The larger fasteners have 75ksi minimum yield strength. There are different types such as the A193 Gr. B7 Threaded Rod which are used in various high pressure, high temperature applications. The material is in particular resistant to sulfide, hydrogen and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Due to the high resistance, the A193-B7 Stud Bolts are often used in sour gas service. The material is made up of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium and molybdenum in the composition. The ASTM A193 Gr B7 Bolts are used in chemical, acid production, food processing equipment and other sensitive and high corrosive applications. The ASTM A193 B7 Metric Bolts are made under metric dimensions, There are ASTM, ASME, AISI and other international standards governing the dimensions of the fasteners. The most produced A193 B7 Fasteners are the heavy hex hunts due to the high tensile strength values. These can also be applied in engines and equipment that are used under heavy corrosive applications.
ASTM A193 B7m Bolts are similar to the B7 bolts but the difference is the lower strength requirement. The dimensions range up to 4 inches for certain fastener types and go up to 7 inches for several other fastener types. The ASTM A193 B7 Hex Bolts have minimum tensile strength of 100ksi and minimum yield strength of 80 ksi.
