The ASTM F593 Nut Bolt in group1 can be made up of the 303, 304, 305, 384 austenitic stainless steels. The 316 austenitic stainless fasteners belong to the alloy group 2 and 321 347 grades belong to the alloy group 3. The ASTM F593 18-8 Stud can be made of ferritic alloys in group 4, martensitic alloys of groups 5 and 6 or with precipitation hardening alloys of group 7. The ASTM F593 Stainless Steel Threaded Rod and other fasteners have varying strength values based on the different material grade. The chemical composition of the materials include carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon and chromium. The minimum tensile strength ranges from 65ksi to 150 ksi and the minimum yield strength ranges from 20ksi to 65ksi. The hardness of the ASTM F593 cw Nuts ranges up to B95.
ASTM F593 Bolts range from ¼ inches to 1 ½ inches in diameter. The specification covers stainless steel bolts, studs and cap screws in this diameter range. There are different materials used to produce these fasteners. There are 8 groups of alloys that are used and based on the group the material grade differs.
