The ASTM B564 Hastelloy B2 Flanges are nickel and molybdenum bearing Flanges that have excellent resistance to environmental reduction. Strong Solution strengthens these Flanges. The Molybdenum material used in these Flanges has outstanding corrosion resistance in a number of degrading conditions. The nickel content of these Flanges avoids the creation of grain-boundary carbide precipitates in the heat-affected region of the weld. For applications requiring reducing agents such as phosphoric acids, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, and hydrogen chloride gas, ASTM B564 Hastelloy B2 Flanges are effective. They are also resistant to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, with the exception of heat-affected areas and knife-line zones.
Hastelloy B2 Flanges (UNS N10665) should not be used at temperatures between 1000 Degree F and 1600 Degree F as the alloy forms secondary phases that could decrease the ductility of the material. These Hastelloy B2 Flanges can be machined using all the traditional machining methods. More than most other metals of similar chemistry, our Hastelloy B2 Flanges offers superior protection against powerful chemical corrosion and comes with one of the best high – temp strengths of any steel. These Hastelloy B2 Flanges should not be used in oxidizing media or where oxidizing contaminants are available in reducing media.

Ferric or cupric salts of these Hastelloy B2 Flanges may perhaps develop when hydrochloric acid comes in contact with iron or copper.
